Solving the E0002: "Cannot get a license" Error
To diagnose and solve an E0002 Error on the HyperChem client, please do the following:
| 1. | Update the server to the latest version. | |
| Updating the server to SentinelLM 7.2 | ||
| 2. | Ensure that the server is running and has a license. | |
| Finding if SentinelLM is installed using lswhere | ||
| Confirming the license by using lsmon and wlmadmin | ||
| 3. | Install HyperChem on the license server to ensure the license is correct. | |
| Installing the HyperChem Client on the License Server | ||
| 4. | Ensure that the correct version of the client is installed. The software-licensed, network version requires the SentinelLM server software on the license server and the HyperChem, software-licensed, network client on the workstation. | |
| Reinstalling the client | ||
| Check more than one client | ||
| 5. | Check that the IP address of the HyperChem client is contained in the list of subnets of the license. The license must contain all the IP subnets of the clients that will be running HyperChem. IP addresses outside the ranges contained with in the license will not be able to get a license. | |
| 6. | Use the LSHOST environment variable to direct the client to the license server | |
| Using the LSHOST environment variable | ||
| 7. | Test the communication between the client and server. | |
| Run the UDP Test | ||
| Subnets, Routers, Firewalls and Broadcast Considerations | ||
| Check Name Resolution | ||
| Check TCP/IP protocols on the client and server | ||
If you have any problems, please consult the Network Troubleshooting page for more information.
