Network, Software-locked Version

HyperChem for Networks comes in two varieties: Software-locked and Hardware-locked. The Software-locked version requires that one license server is installed with a software-based license key, which must be obtained from Hypercube.

The Sentinel License Manager (SentinelLM) is the software that allows HyperChem to be licensed at one central location and used by a specified number of users throughout the network. SentinelLM may be installed from the HyperChem disc by choosing Purchased Product, Networked, Network license server and Software-locked options when installing HyperChem. SentinelLM is required for HyperChem for Networks to function.

During installation two locking codes will be generated. These locking codes must be emailed to license@hyper.com along with the copy's serial number, version, number of seats and IP addresses. The network version of HyperChem includes a license for up to seven Class C subnets (e.g. nnn.nnn.nnn.*). You can also access our email licensing form here. Our Licensing Department then generates a license code and emails it back to the user. The user selects the code from the final installation screen, and the server will have licenses available to serve. Client software must be installed on each client computer, in order to access the available licenses.

However, since the license is keyed to the computer's configuration, if the computer hardware or system configuration is changed, the license manager may not recognize the license as valid and will generate new locking codes. You will then have to obtain another license from Hypercube. Additionally, a License Transfer Authorization form will be required for our records. The form is in Adobe Portable Document Format and is available for download . It also may be sent by the License Department staff as an email attachment.
