Standalone, Software-locked Version

The Standalone version of HyperChem comes in two varieties, the software lock and the hardware lock. The purchase of a standalone software-locked version requires the user to contact Hypercube for a license code during installation. When installing, choose the Standalone option (rather than Network) and the Software Lock option (rather than Hardware Lock). The final screen during installation will provide a locking code, which must be emailed to license@hyper.com along with the copy's serial number and version. You can also access our email licensing form here. Our Licensing Department then generates a license code and return emails it to the purchaser. The user selects the code from the final installation screen, and HyperChem will be licensed and ready to run.

The software-locked version may only be installed on one computer at a time, as the license code is keyed to the configuration of the computer. This software license is secure and cannot be lost or stolen, unlike the hardware lock version.

However, since the license is keyed to the computer's configuration, if the computer hardware or system configuration is changed, the license manager may not recognize the license as valid and will generate a new locking code. You will then have to obtain another license from Hypercube. Additionally, a License Transfer Authorization form will be required for our records. The form is in Adobe Portable Document Format and is available for download. It also may be sent by the License Department staff as an email attachment.
