HyperChem 5.1 for NT Fails to Respond

Due to a manufacturing defect, HyperChem 5.1 for NT (with the specific serial numbers 500-10009XXX) will not respond properly. For example, clicking on the About… box will cause the program to return without bringing up the dialog box. Similarly, other menu items will not cause the appropriate action to be taken but instead will just return without any action. The problem is associated with corrupted license drivers on the 9XXX CD’s and affects only NT users. Earlier manufacturing runs of HyperChem 5.1 were unaffected, as are new manufacturing runs. The fix for manufacturing run 500-10009XXX is to install uncorrupted license drivers for NT.

The update to install these drivers is distributed here as a single executable file (update.exe) which you should download and then execute. Executing update.exe will install the correct drivers for you. This fix is not needed for Windows 95 or Windows 98 but installing the fix will not damage any earlier installation.
